Class 68(1) A tractor mounted loading device characterized by the provision of a mechanical linkage which causes the bucket to be swung forward relative to the lifting arms at the same time as the' bucket is raised by the lifting arms. In Fig. 1 which shows an over-loader two arms a are pivoted at b to a frame c fastened to a tractor. Hydraulic rams d act to rotate the arms about the pivots b. At the forward ends of the arms a are pivoted arms h fixed to a bucket i. Near the middle of the arms a are pivoted links m the upper ends of which are connected to the fixed brackets o by the links k pivoted at n and p and the lower ends of which are connected to arms h by the hydraulic rams j pivoted at s and r. Upward movement of the arms a initially produces forward movement of the arms h relative to the arms a and subsequently backward movement to avoid spilling the load as the arms a pass through the vertical position. The bucket is tipped by actuating the rams j. In a modification, to provide a front end loader, the arms h are omitted and the arms a extended and pivoted directly to the bucket. The hydraulic rams j are also pivoted directly to the bucket at their forward ends and are constructed to contract in length to tip the bucket. Alternatively the rams j may be replaced by links of fixed length and a latch mechanism provided.
