Abstract

800,515. Pliers. ARTHUR, E. M. Sept. 24, 1956 [Oct. 11, 1955], No. 28875/55. Class 61. [Also in Group XXV] One handle lever 2 of a pair of circlip pliers is formed in two parts 2a, 2b which are pivoted on the pivot pin 3 of the pliers means being provided for fixing the two parts in two different angular positions the arrangement being such that in one position of the parts 2a, 2b the jaws 8 are moved apart and in the other position the jaws are moved towards one another when the hand grip portions of the levers 1, 2 are moved together. The tail piece 5 of the lever part 2b has two notches 6 therein at right angles to one another in either of which a projection 7 pressed in the separate hand grip 2a is adapted to engage. The pivot pin 3 engages a slot 4 in the hand grip 2a which is thereby rendered slidable into or out of fastening position. The jaws 8 at the ends of the lever arms are parallel to the pivot axis 3.
