798,470. Pipe couplings. KNORR-BREMSE GES. Aug. 9, 1956 [June 2, 1956], No. 24482/56. Class 99(1). [Also in Group XXXVI] A coupling comprises flanges 1, 2 each of which has a pipe 3 for compressed air and an electric contact element inserted in an insulating socket 16, the flanges 1, 2 being secured together by a stirrup 9 on flange 2 and passing round flange 1, which is tightened by a toggle lever 10, thus compressing rubber rings 5. A spring pressed member 11 passing through holes in flange 2 and round flange 1 also serves to hold the parts together and ensures good electrical contact.
