Abstract

838,241. Two-part couplings. COMPAGNIE FINANCIERE IMMOBILIERE ET MOBILIERE COFIMO. Oct. 21, 1957 [Oct. 22, 1956], No. 32729/57. Class 38 (1). A cable protecting device for electrical apparatus comprises a flexible support to which the cable is rigidly connected is attached to the apparatus so that the support absorbs any pull on the cable. The device is preferably associated with a two-part connector. A plug 4, Fig. 1, and integral flexible support 1 is attached to an apparatus 3. A supply cable terminates in a corresponding socket 9, 14 and is designed so that an initial pull distorts the support 1 and subsequent heavier loading pulls the connector apart. The plug 4, Fig. 2, is of one piece moulded construction and has projections 17 which engage with grooves 18 on the socket, the members 17, 18 disengaging at a predetermined force. The socket comprises two parts enclosing the contact tubes 10 the conductors 11 being clamped between the two parts by means of teeth (not shown). The two parts are contained in a rubber casing 14.
