Abstract
797,049. Releasable fastenings. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. March 15, 1955 [March 26, 1954], No. 7531/55. Class 44 [Also in Group XXXVII] A switch comprises a base and a quickly attachable and detachable cover plate, latch means on the base being adapted for biasing the cover towards the base and being movable to either of two positions, in the first of which it may be slidingly engaged or disengaged by the cover and in the second of which the cover may not be removed. The cover 20 has notches 21 co-operating with base projections 12 and a handle 27 co-operating with base shoulders 13 to prevent lateral movement of the cover. The latter also has slots 22 which may be fitted over parts 31 of latch bars 30, the cover then being slid downwards in Fig. 1 to engage the notches 21 and handle 27 with the projections 12 and shoulders 13. In this position of latch bars 30, the cover may be readily detached by pulling the handle 27 forward in Fig. 1 and then sliding the cover upwards. To prevent this ready detachment, the cover has a cam track co-operating with each latch bar, each track having depressions 23, 24 and a central hump 25. The base 10 also has cut-away parts 17 corresponding to the cam tracks and accommodating parts 32 of the latch bars which may thus be rotated through 90 degrees to lock the cover. The latch bars are biased to the right, Fig. 2, by springs 35 and when the cover is slid in position the bars are cammed to the left, Fig. 2, by cover parts 23 to remove latch parts 32 from depressions 17a at the ends of cut-away parts 17. Specification 697,511 [Group XXXVII] is referred to.
