Abstract

796,887. Hinges and pivots. SAGL, K.. KUSCHEL, K., and KLANNER, R. June 21, 1956 [0ct. 25, 1955], No. 30434/55. Class 65(2) A door mounting, especially for vehicle doors, providing ready dismounting of the door comprises a bracket member 12 secured to the door and having oppositely directed stubs 13, 11, engaging with a socket in the door and with a vertically displaceable pivot bearing 15 respectively A cup member 18 carrying the bearing 15 is housed in a ring 16 with a spherical seat engaging a cup 18 having a shank 19 screwed into a mounting plate 24 secured to and passing through the vehicle floor 23. Rotation of the shank 19 lowers the bearing clear of the stub 11 to dismount the door; alternatively with the shank lowered, the door may be detached from the stub 13 after the release of the bolts 14 securing the bracket to the door. A locknut 28 and a lock-washer 27 together prevent rotation of the shank when in the raised, engaged, position. The cap 17 and split steel sleeve 26 prevent the ingress of dust, &c. to the mounting.
