Abstract

573,034. Hangers for sliding doors. OVERTON, W. Oct. 11, 1943, No. 16588. [Class 20 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXII] A horizontally sliding door is supported by pivots 26 mounted on the housing of the roller or other runner 28, the common axis of the pivots passing through the centre of the runner so that the runner will not tend to be tilted by angular displacement of the door. The lugs 25 engaging the pivots are integral with a plate 24 screwed to the door. The track has flanges 32, 33 engaging the roller 28 and the roller axle 31. In a modification, Fig. 8, the roller is mounted on a bolt in a plate having end flanges for the pivots 41 of the door bracket and the track is closed at the top by a flange with an inturned end. The pivots of the door bracket are retained by a locking washer 42 having a recess in its edge to permit of easy removal. The application to a sliding roof 49 is illustrated in Fig. 9. Dust shields of the kind described in Specification 570,540 are provided.
