Abstract

1279989 Bolts S W BENGTSSON 30 Oct 1969 [26 Nov 1968] 53145/69 Heading E2A A unit A which enables a door-handle 10 to be bolted is secured beneath the doorhandle nose-plate 12 and has a detent disc 23 fitting over the square shaft 14 of the door latch mechanism and a slideable bolt 19 which may be moved inwardly to engage a recess 24 in the detent disc to prevent rotation of the handle. A detent-spring 29 holds the bolt in either position. The elements A and 12 are mutually located by dowels 30, and fastening screws pass through holes 35, 35' 36, 36' to the door. The bolt may engage the shaft 14 directly, and may be combined with a cylinder lock.
