Abstract

796,802. Reciprocating pumps. HILL, S.D. March 8, 1957 [April 11, 1956], No. 10973/56. Class 102(1). An oil dispensing pump comprises a barrel 1 adapted to pass through the top of a container 2 and extend towards the bottom of the container, fitted with a foot valve 8 and a bucket 12 connected to a tubular rod 14 through which liquid passes on the down stroke to an outlet 18 connected to a dispensing hose 19 fitted with a valved nozzle 28 which when not in use or for priming the pump is inserted in a socket 27 communicating with the barrel above the bucket and drain holes 29. A spring 32 rests at its lower end on a member 11 secured to the barrel and at its upper end engages a cup which in turn engages a pin passing through the rod.
