Abstract

796,096. Locking nuts and bolts. ROLLSROYCE, Ltd. Jan. 18, 1956 [Dec. 15, 1954], No. 36395/54. Class 89(1) A nut 36, bolt or the like is locked against rotation with respect to an adjacent part 31 by having one face of a deformable flange 38 abuting a surface of the part 31, which surface has one or more depressions 39 into which the flange is pressed, said nut &c. being in screw-threaded engagement with a second part 30 engaging the part 31 in a manner to prevent rotation therebetween. The flange may extend radially to engage a flat surface, or axially to engage a cylindrical surface, and may be formed at the other end of the nut &c.
