Abstract

795,543. Switch cases. CRABTREE & CO., Ltd., J. A., and MIDDLETON, E. July 20, 1956 [Aug. 15, 1955], No. 23397/55. Class 38 (5). A flameproof enclosure 1 for push-button switches 11 has a wall or partition 2 providing separate terminal and switch chambers 3, 4. Switch-operating buttons 21 are fitted in the switch cover 5 and provided with bushes 26 to engage the switch plungers 27. The switches 11 are mounted on an insulating plate 19 bolted to the floor of the chamber 4. The switch terminals 15 are connected by flexible cables 10a to terminals 10 which are crimped to the cable ends and extend through the wall 2 in insulating bushings 16 and are threaded to receive terminal nuts 18 for the supply leads which can be brought in through conduit entries 7. The flexible cables 10a are long enough to allow the switch mounting plate 19 to be removed from the enclosure without disturbance of terminal connections (Fig. 2).
