A flameproof enclosure for a switch &c. comprises a body 10 with closures 12, 14 screwed thereon. Rails 28 are fixed to the body 10 and receive movable rails 40 bearing the electrical gear. Drain and vent plugs 60 59 are provided and cable entries are also provided at 48.
