Abstract
203,872. Hirst, J. A., and Brook, Hirst, & Co., Ltd. Aug. 15, 1922. Switch boards. - An enclosed regulating switch C, which may be a motor starter of the type described in Specification 207,232, [Class 38 (iii), Electric motor control systems &c.], is mounted at the top of a vertical tubular member A set into a chambered base B which contains a terminal board and an isolating switch. Conductors extending inside the tubular member connect the motor starter to the terminal board and are taken out to make connection with resistances &c. contained in a separate box D, which is attached to the front face of the member A. Where transformers replace resistances, the transformer casing may rest on flattened portions of the base. Incoming cables are either taken directly into the base compartment through glands, or are taken into connection boxes attached to the member A at a convenient height. The whole structure may be attached to a wall.
