Abstract
1,087,761. Switchgear structures. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 14, 1965 [Jan. 20, 1964], No. 2394/64. Heading H2B. A vacuum switch (10) is mounted on a partition (4) separating the two compartments (2, 3) of a flameproof cubicle (1) and is connected by an isolating and earthing switch blade (26) to a bus-bar terminal and through a current transformer (33) to an output terminal (43). In a three-phase switchgear three such vacuum switches (8-10) are mounted on the partition and connected to respective bus-bars (5-7) and output terminals (41-43). The vacuum switches are operated by a mechanism (21) (not shown) and a handle (22) external to the cubicle. The isolating switches (24-26) are operated by a handle (27). The cubicle 1 is provided with flameproof windows (28-30) enabling the position of the switches (24-26) to be seen. The cubicle can be directly mounted on a transformer housing by means of a flange (45) or be connected to a bus-bar assembly by further flanges (46). The bus-bars may be insulated with moulded resin as described in Specification 1,087,762. The vacuum switch may be as described in Specification 1,030,798.
