Abstract

794,672. Doors. IDEAL BOILERS & RADIATORS, Ltd. March 23,1956 [July 11, 1955], No. 20060/55. Class 126 [Also in Group XII] A furnace door applicable to, e.g. a domestic boiler, comprises an outer shell 4, Figs. 1, 4, and an inner plate 10 connected by studs screwed into bosses 8 on the shell, the plate being urged away from the shell and into sealing contact with the edge 3 of the furnace opening by springs 11. The door is mounted on a hinge pin 5 supported in bosses on the furnace by brackets 6 secured to the shell, and held in the closed position by a lever 15 engaging a lug 16 on the shell. A peripheral space 17 permits flow of cooling air between the shell and the plate. An asbestos gasket may be applied to the rim 14 of the plate.
