Abstract

792,737. Locking rotary elements. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. April 10, 1956 [April 13, 1955], No. 10899/56. Class 80 (3) [Also in Group XXXVII] A star wheel 3 on the shaft of a drum switch or other device is arrested in one or more positions by a pair of rollers 6, 7 on spring-connected levers 4, 5 pivoted at 8, 9, the journal pin of the roller 6 being mounted in slotted or enlarged openings in the two parallel arms forming the lever 4 to allow limited tangential movement of the roller relatively to the wheel 3 and thus avoid the necessity for accurate positioning of the levers. In a modification the lever 4 is itself mounted for limited tangential movement. Where the wheel 3 has an odd number of teeth there may be two rollers on the lever 5. The spring 10 may be replaced by a compression spring, or alternatively the rollers may be carried by a pair of leaf-springs.
