Abstract

791,702. Drying apparatus. ADAMS, A. B. Nov. 22, 1956 [Sept. 26, 1955], No. 27300/55. Class 34(2) In a drier of the type in which clayware &c. 13 is conveyed through a drying tunnel, the tunnel is formed with a central portion 20 and end portions 21 having partitions 33, 24 respectively, forming passages 25, so that air from a fan 31 and heaters 32 passes over the goods and flows back along the passages 25 to the central portion to be recirculated. The partitions 24 support baffles 26 and are integral with the end portions 21 which may be lifted off the supporting framework 10. Cool air drawn in through openings 29 and together with warm air is deflected into passages 25 by baffles 35 and the flow is regulated by dampers 36. A damper controlled central outlet allows some of the air to escape.
