Abstract

790,825. Spinning spindle bearings. PERLINGER, H., and RICHTER, H., [trading as PERLINGER & RICHTER PRIMATEX]. July 25, 1956 [July 26, 1955], No. 22954/56. Class 12 (1). In a housing assembly for the bearings of a spinning or twisting spindle comprising a sleeve 7 in which are carried spaced journal and footstep bearings 3, 4, the sleeve being allowed limited damped oscillatory movement, pendulum fashion, inside the housing, the sleeve and housing are formed as a single integral unit. The combined housing and sleeve unit is preferably formed by an injection moulding of a plastic. Alternatively, a light metal such as aluminium or aluminium alloy is employed. The bearings are either pressed directly into the unit or the journal bearing may be carried in a holder which is pressed into the unit. The journal bearing may be a ball or roller bearing having barrel-shaped rollers to allow slight pendulum-like movement of the spindle. Lubricating oil is carried in the lower end of the sleeve 7 and damping oil 10 is disposed in the space between the sleeve 7 and the housing wall 11. A separate cap 12 closes the lower end of the housing to prevent the escape of the oil 10.
