Abstract
790,695. Heat-exchangers. HENNINGER, A. B. June 1, 1955, No. 15760/55. Class 64(3) [Also in Group XXII] In a tubular radiator of aluminium or aluminium alloy, provided with transverse gill plates 41 spaced apart along the tubes 1, the 'plates are disposed at the required spacing by means of a holding device (see Fig. 8), and thereafter, spacing pieces (see Figs. 9 and 10) are inserted into apertures 81 formed in the plates 41 and by turning and/or displacement are anchored to the plates after which the holding device is removed and the tubes are inserted through apertures 21, provided for them in the plates, the unit being finally soldered in a furnace. The spacing pieces (Figs. 9 and 10) are preferably made of aluminium but they may be made of sheet iron in which case they are removed after the soldering operation.
