Soldering workholders.-Fig. 3 shows a jig. in which flat tubes 2 and gill plates 3 are assembled as shown in Fig. 1, and tinned, soldered, or otherwise secured to form a radiator for a motor road vehicle. The jig consists of a series of plates 5, provided with sawcuts to receive the tubes 2 and spaced by strips 7 so that gill plates 3 may be inserted between them, the whole being clamped together by bars 8 and tie-rods 9 passing through holes in the plates 5. In this form, the jig is adjustable for different sizes of radiator ; it may, however, be formed from a single block. After assembling, the portions projecting from the jig are dipped -in a tinning or soldering bath. The radiator may be reversed and the other side dipped.
