Abstract

An intimate mixture of fluxing material and adhesive or other binder applied to a welding stud may contain alloying, deoxidizing are stabilizing or cleaning agents and the adhesive may be gold size diluted with a solvent or white hard spirit varnish. In an example, a fluxing material and adhesive mixture comprises aluminium powder (deoxidizer) 10 parts by weight; potassium oxalate (arc stabilizer) 3 parts by weight; gold size 1 part by volume; mineral turpentine 3 1/2 parts by volume, the gold size being dissolved in the turpentine and the aluminum powder and potassium oxalate being thereafter added.
