Abstract

787,276. Load-handling machines. HICKMAN, G. May 25, 1956 [May 25, 1955], No. 15156/55. Class 78 (3). [Also in Group XXII] Apparatus for handling moulding boxes on foundry moulding machines comprises an arm 3 pivotally mounted about a vertical axis 1 adjacent the mould table, and a pair of opposed jaw formations 7, 8 mounted on the arm for rotation about a common horizontal axis and engageable with the lugs 9 on a moulding box 4, whereby when the arm is swung over a loaded machine table a moulding box can be picked up by the arm, swung aside and inverted. The jaws are mounted in trunnions 5, 6 and are locked to the box by pins 11. The post 1 may be an hydraulic ram.
