Abstract
778,973. Moulding-machines. FAIRBAIRN LAWSON COMBE BARBOUR, Ltd. Feb. 22, 1956 [April 5, 1955], No. 9871/55. Class 83 (1). A shell-moulding machine comprises a number of core-box or pattern-carrying arms, means for supplying moulding mixture, an oven, and means for displacing one or more arms from their normal positions, thus enabling all the core-boxes to be placed at the same time within the oven. Arms 12, 13, carrying invertible core-box supporting-tables 11 at their ends are mounted on a column 3 above a table 2. The arm 12 is fixed to a sleeve 32, rotatable about the column by a hand wheel 25 and gearing 34, and the arm 13 is normally fixed to the arm 12 by bolts 35, which may be removed so that both tables 11 may be located in the oven. One of the ejector-plates 23, 39 engages pins in the corebox, depending upon whether the core-box opens vertically or horizontally.
