Abstract

772,261. Moulding-machines. STONEWALLWORK, Ltd. Sept. 26, 1955 [July 2, 1954], No. 19504/54. Class 83 (1). A shell - moulding machine comprises a vibrator or vibrators which act on the patternplate to eject the pattern from the shell. A pattern-plate 1 is clamped to the underside of an ejector-frame 2 by cams 4 pivoted to posts 3, which stand up from the pattern-plate and pass through holes in the frame 2. Pneumaticvibrators 9, one for each post 3, may be moved to the operative position engaging the posts, the clamps 4 released, and the vibrators set in operation, to cause the pattern-plate to fall away from the shell, which is left supported by the frame 2. The fall of the plate is limited by the cams 4 or other stops. The machine is of the turntable-type, with an oven 16, and the frame 2 is invertibly-mounted on trunnions 19. In a modification, the vibrators are resiliently mounted in rocker-arms on a shaft operated by a pneumatic-cylinder, automatically energized at the correct instant in a cycle of operations.
