[Also in Group XVIII] When a measuring chamber 18 for aggregate has been filled from a hopper 14, the supply is cut off by a gate 60 which has a strike-off wall 117 that moves the aggregate at the top of the chamber into a box 121 and also a scraper blade 119 that removes any loose aggregate from the bottom 120 of the box. Normally, on the return stroke of the gate to open the hopper, the blade 119 returns the aggregate in the box to the emptied measuring chamber but, if it is desired to take a sample, latches can be released to allow the bottom 120 to tilt about a pivot 136 and deliver the contents of the box to a removable sampling box 132 hooked over pins on a shoot 130.
