Class 106(5) Means for delivering measured quantities of granular material from a container A comprises an aperture 2 in the wall of the container, a tongue 3 formed from part of the wall and a spout having a flat front portion 4 and side walls 5. The spout is hingedly connected to the container by a pivot or staple or by prongs 9 positioned at or near the bottom end of the front portion 4 and clinched into the container wall. To form the measuring compartment, the tongue 3 is sprung into position between protuberances 13 on the side walls but, for continuous pouring, the tongue may be placed flat against the front portion 4 and held there by protuberances on the side walls. The top edge 12 of the aperture preferably extends within the side walls so that it acts as a scraper to level off the contents of the measuring compartment. Projections 11 engage the inner side of the container wall to hold the spout in closed position and lugs 10 limit its outward movement.
