786,183. Shelter roofs. LUBBERS, W. P. Dec. 5, 1955, No. 34741/55. Class 20(4) A shelter roof construction substantially semi-parabolic in cross-section comprises rafters 1 secured at one end to the ground or to a foundation 2 and a roof 3 of thin sheet material to which purlins 4 are fastened by means of bolts, rails or the like, intermediate spaces being provided between the purlins 4 and roof 3 so that water of condensation may flow along the inner side of the roof to one or more collecting gutters to be drained. Washers 11 are interposed between the roof sheets 3 and the purlins 4 and the whole secured to the lower beam 6 of each rafter 1 by bolts 12, which pass through holes 9 in angle irons 7, 8 welded to the beam and are tightened by nuts 10. The lower edge 5 of the roof 3, which terminates above the ground, may be equipped with a gutter 14, or the material of the roof may be bent up to form the gutter.
