785,397. Hydraulic turbines. AKTIEBOLAGET KARLSTADS MEKANISKA WERKSTAD. Oct. 8, 1955, No. 28722/55. Class 110 (3). [Also in Group XXIX] The control valve of an hydraulic governor for an hydraulic turbine is arranged so that it may be adjusted for positive or negative lap. In the embodiment shown the control valve consists of a land 23 controlling the passage of pressure fluid from a conduit 17 to a conduit 15 leading to the upper side of a servo-piston 13, and a land 25 controlling the exhausting of fluid from the passage 15 to a passage 19, the land 25 being adjustably screw-threaded on to a stem 27 which is fixed to the land 23. A lock nut 30 secures the land 25 in its adjusted position which is indicated by a pointer 32. The control valve is connected to a centrifugal governor and the servo-piston to the inlet guide vanes of the turbine. In a modification, the two lands of the control valve are fixed relative to each other and a sleeve in the housing in which the valve reciprocates is formed in two parts which are adjustably screwed together whereby the lap may be adjusted.
