Abstract

783,087. Aircraft. ECKINGTON, F. J. Jan. 20, 1954 [Jan. 20, 1953], No. 1569/53. Class 4. A delta-shape wing is provided with lateral wing extensions 6, provided with control surfaces 6A. The maximum thickness of both main and stub wings occurs at point 7 and the wings in section may increase in thickness from leading edge to trailing edge. The broken lines indicate a tail extension 6B and wing extensions 6C. A variety of wing plan-form shapes are shown in the drawings and a fin slidable along the aircraft body may be provided. The leading edges of the delta wing may carry hinged flaps which may be moved outwardly to vary the leading edge camber. Specification 652,248 is referred to.
