Abstract

782,953. Reservoir brushes. DUPLI-COLOR PRODUCTS CO., Inc. Aug. 19, 1955, No. 24037/55. Class 19. In a fountain applicator the retractable liquid-applying brush 30 is arranged to receive liquid from a reservoir 15 through a passage controlled by a valve 23 mounted for movement with the brush 30 and urged by a spring 19 into a position where it stops all flow of liquid between the reservoir and the brush and is also arranged, when not in use, to be engaged by a pin 40 of a cap 13 which keeps the valve open when the cap is fitted on the applicator so that the brush is immersed in liquid during periods of non use. The part of the casing bounding the opening through which the brush is retracted bears against a plastic pad 42 on the cap when the latter is fitted on the applicator. Guide means 21, 22 for maintaining the rod of the combined valve and brush means centrally of the casing of the applicator are provided.
