989,207. Pad applicators. E. J. POLITZER. Nov. 29, 1962 [Dec. 7, 1961], No. 45226/62. Heading A4K. [Also in Division A5] An appliance for applying polish removing liquid to the nails comprises a container for the solvent and a wick which, at one end, dips into the solvent and, at its other end, terminates in a rubbing element associated with an oblique surface. The oblique surface 8 may be provided on a stopper 4 through which the wick 6 extends and the upper end of the wick may itself be opened out over the surface for rubbing the nails or it may lead into a pad or brush mounted on the surface. A vent tube 7 extends through the stopper to the bottom of the container. If desired. the neck of the container may be shaped to avoid the use of a separate stopper.
