Abstract

926,504. Reservoir pads. D. E. K. GRANT. Sept. 13, 1961 [July 21, 1960], No. 25400/60. Class 19. A porous pad of cellular or foamed sponge &c. has a slit or bore into which is inserted and secured one end of a pipe for supplying liquid to the pad. As shown in Fig. 1, the external surface of a flexible hose pipe 2 is preferably roughened to increase the gripping effect of the pad. The hose pipe 2 is sealed and bonded to the pad at the point of entry into the pad by a disc 3. The end of the pipe may be open or closed and provided with perforations 4. In a modification the pipe is adapted to project for a comparatively short distance from the pad, the projecting end being grooved, serrated or tapered to facilitate connection to a flexible hose pipe. In another modification, Fig. 3, a detergent container 7 is secured to the short pipe 5 an aperture 6 affording communication. A control spigot valve 8 regulates the flow of detergent from the container to the pipe 5. A shield 10 associated with the upper side of the pad for preventing egress of liquid is provided with a hand grip 11.
