Abstract

782,590. Connecting pipes to taps &c. SMITH, R. M. June 5, 1956 [March 7, 1955; Jan. 16, 1956], Nos. 6591/55 and 1377/56. Class 99(1). A band 15 fitted on a one-piece rubber moulding having a socket 10 with internal ribs 12, for fitting to a tap &c., and a stem 11 for connecting to a hose pipe, can be tightened to vary the inclination of the ribs to suit the size of tap and the back pressure of the fluid. Ridges 13, 14 prevent the band from slipping off when not in use, the part 18 between the socket and the stem is of cup formation and the interior surface 20 is convex to prevent ballooning due to fluid pressure, a ferrule 21 is fitted on the stem, and an adaptor 22 has a flared end 24.
