Class 20(4) In a reinforced concrete floor the top reinforcement includes hook-ended bars 13 laid across, and secured at their mid-points to, the top longitudinal reinforcing bars 6 of the beam the return hook ends 13<SP>1</SP> being secured to some of the bottom distribution bars 11. Straight bars 14 are placed between the hook bars and are also secured to the beam bars 6; the bars 14 are also secured to the top distribution bars 12 which are also secured to the hooked bars.
