779,699. Photo-conductive devices. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Aug. 3, 1954 [Aug. 13, 1953], No. 22301/53. Drawings to Specification. Class 37. [Also in Group XL (a)] An X-ray sensitive pick-up tube (see Group XL (a)) contains a photo-conductive layer of amorphous selenium, polythene, cadmium sulphide, some kinds of glass or fluorides, or alumina. The layer may be 2.5-25 microns thick and is not sensitive to visible light across its whole thickness. One side may be coated with a thin conductive light-transparent layer, for example stannic oxide at 0.1 micron.
