779,682. Radial cylinder pumps. PRESTRESSED CONCRETE CORPORATION, ORSHANSKY, E.. COLNON. A. B.. and FLAM. J., [trading as CROWN ENGINEERING & DEVELOPMENT CO.]. Feb. 8, 1955, No. 3746/55. Class 102(1) [Also in Group XXIX] A hydraulic pump or motor comprises two sets of pistons 15, 16 in two sets of cylinder chambers 13, 14 in a cylinder block 2 the chambers 13, 14 being spaced along the block axis and radial thereto, each piston of one set being diametrically opposite a corresponding piston of the other set, and a pair of reaction rings 17, 19 having equal and opposite eccentricties and annular sloping surfaces 22, 23 for engagement with the piston heads. The cylinders 13, 14 are extended as at 13a, 14a to provide guides for the pistons 15, 16. The block 2 carries a bush 167 rotatably mounted on a further bush 168 on a stationary pin 50 and one side face engages a stationary valve plate 32 which has two concentric pairs of kidney shaped ports 36, 37 and 38, 39 which communicate respectively with ports 30, 31 in the cylinders 14, 13. The other side face of the block 2 is contacted by a balance plate 49, having recesses 67, 68, 69, 70 shaped to correspond with and incommunication with the opposite ports 36, 37, 38, 39 respectively. The space between a reaction member 54 and the member 49 is supplied with pressure from the recess 69 through a port 81. The reaction rings 17, 19 are carried in members 99, 100 which are pivoted on a pin 103 at one end and at the other are connected to an arm 118 connected to a shaft 119 having an adjusting handle 121.
