Abstract

779,101. Feeding webs. JAGENBERGWERKE AKT.-GES. June 21, 1955 [June 29, 1954], No. 17899/55. Class 100(1) A guide slot 22 for the ends of a winding spindle 1, supported on a pair of drums 4, comprises a pair of rails 5, 6, the rail 6 being pivotally mounted on a frame 2. The rail 6 is carried by arms 9 pivotally mounted on pins 8, thus permitting the rail 6 to be swung away from the rail 5 when it is desired to introduce or remove a winding spindle 1. The rail 6 is locked in operative position by spring-pressed plunger 16, Fig. 3, which engages a member 19 on the frame 2. The plunger 16 and member 19 have co-operating curved surfaces 20 and 21 to facilitate engagement The plunger 16 is release by actuation of a handle 11; about pins 13 in the direction of the arrow. A sleeve 24, Fig. 4, having bearings 34 and 35 and mounted on the spindle end 23, has a screwed pressure pad 25 which engages a rail 28, Fig. 2, that serves as a guide for a pressure roll 29. Figs. 1 and 7, not shown. Rings 30, Fig. 4, provide axial adjustment of the spindle while a spring ring 31 engaging a bore 33 in the pad 25 retains the pad in position.
