Abstract

636,718. Winding and reeling. STONE & CO., Ltd., J., LYTH, C. J., RANDALL, S., and JEFFERIES, G. W. March 22, 1948, No. 8396. [Class 83 (iv)] A device for holding coiled stock is in the form of a cage comprising side members 1 and a ring of rollers 2, 21 within which the coil can be accommodated, one or more of the rollers, 21, being made readily removable to permit the introduction or removal of a coil. The roller 21 is supported between cheek-pieces 6, which are pivotally mounted on a bolt 7, and locked in the operative position by pins 8 carried by spring-loaded levers 10. The device may be adapted to strip material of different widths by providing interchangeable sets of rollers and bolts 4, 41 by the use of which the spacing of the side pieces 1 may be altered.
