Abstract

778,976. Pipe joints. COW & CO., Ltd., P. B. April 9, 1956 [April 25, 1955], No. 11932/55. Class 99(1) A flexible connector, particularly for engine fuel supply pipes, comprises two flexible sleeves 3, 4, united at their central portions 5, the ends of the pipes 1, 2, being inserted between the ends of the sleeves. The ends of the sleeve 4 may be clamped 'on the ends of the pipes 1, 2, by suitable fastening means and the central portion of the sleeve 4 which is initially of the same diameter as the end portions is slit to enable it to be reduced to the diameter of sleeve 3 prior to bonding of the sleeves together at their central portions. The sleeves 3, 4, may be made of neoprene or acrylonitrile rubber, or a mixture of such rubbers with natural rubber, or of butadiene styrene rubber.
