Abstract

778,490. Shovelling machines. EIMCO CORPORATION. Feb. 13, 1956 [Feb. 21, 1955], No.4431/56. Class 68 (1). Each supporting rail 14 for the rocker members 28 of an overthrow shovelling machine is of a cross section adapted to provide strength in the vertical direction for carrying the load and has a longitudinally extending upwardly directed face or faces 22 on which the curved rolling face or faces 26 of the respective rocker member 28 is or are supported below the top of the section. The rail may be L, T or of an inverted V shape in cross section and the upwardly directed face or faces 22 may be inclined upwardly towards the web portion of the rail. The curved portion of the rocker member 28 may be a flange 102 overlapping the upstanding portion 98 or may be recessed to receive said portion as well as having a laterally extending grooved web to receive cables 34, 36 cross connected between said rocker members and said rails.
