Abstract

1,022,579. Overhead travelling cranes. SOC. NAZIONALE DELLE OFFICINE DE SAVIGLIANO. Nov. 11, 1964 [June. 16, 1964], No. 46036/64. Heading B8B. The crab 4 of an overhead travelling crane of the type having a single main girder 1 runs on rails 5, 18 and is prevented from tilting by wheels 7 which engage the lower surface of a rail 18. The wheels 7 are freely suspended from pins 21 by interconnected stirrups 22. The pins 21 are mounted on a block 20 which slides laterally on an extension 4a of the crab. Wheels 8 are resiliently mounted on links which are pivoted to an arm 25 centrally pivoted to the carriage 4 and extending parallel to the rail 18. The number of crab wheels may be increased.
