Abstract

778,154. Endless driving chains for chain conveyers. NEW CONVEYOR CO., Ltd. Feb. 16, 1956 [March 28, 1955], No. 8948/55. Class 78 (1). A conveyer chain 3 is driven by dogs 9 on an endless driving chain 6 which is supported on a guide track 8 curved to an arc of uniform radius, the pitch of the dogs 9 being slightly less than that of the conveyer chain, or slightly less than a multiple of that of the conveyer chain. The radius of the track 8 is so chosen that two or more of the dogs are in engagement with the chain at any one time. A further track 10 is also provided for guiding the return run of the chain 6 and is adjustably mounted relative to the track 8 for adjusting the tension of chain 6, the adjustment being effected by means of nuts 11 carried on studs 12 interconnecting the two tracks.
