Abstract
802,024. Endless chain conveyers. CAMPBELL (LONDON), Ltd., H., CAMPBELL, H., and TAYLOR, J. G. Jan. 22, 1957 [Jan. 23, 1956], No. 2158/56. Class 78 (1). Bottles are pushed along a track 15, Fig. 2, which has at least a part of its length inclined to the horizontal, by members 12 projecting from an endless chain 16 and are retained on the track by guides 18, 19. The members 12 are so spaced that the bottles are at all times substantially upright relatively to the track. In a modification, Fig. 4, two parallel chains 16 are provided each carrying a series of plates 12 and the bottles are moved over a steel plate 21. Friction is reduced by allowing water to flow over the plate and by covering the surface with rubber. In another modification the inclined portion of the track is a movable belt. Bottles are fed to the conveyer and removed therefrom by chain belts 26, Fig. 6, driven at a slightly higher speed and guides 27, 28, 31. The plates 12 may be provided with webs 30 to cushion the bottles as they pass into the spaces between them. Specification 783,921 is referred to.
