777,559. Mounting and cooling batteries. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.-GES. Dec. 7, 1955 [Dec. 11, 1954], No. 35129/55. Class 79(3). [Also in Group XXXVI] A motor vehicle comprises an engine space 5 kept by a cooling fan 10 at superatmospheric pressure, and a battery 14 disposed in a housing 15, which can be brought into communication with the engine space by means of a controllable opening, and which has inlet and outlet apertures 16, 17, for the wind of travel. As shown, applied to a rearengined vehicle, a flap 21 controls an opening between the housing 15 and the engine space. The air inlet to the apertures 16 is baffled at 19, 20. The fan 10 draws air through a radiator 6.
