440,298. Cooling motors &c. AKT.- GES. FUR VERKEHRSPATENTE, and JARAY, P., 2, Hirschengraben, Lucerne, Switzerland. Jan. 24, 1935, No. 2299.. Convention date, Jan. 24, 1934. [Class 79 (iii)] A device for cooling the engine, head-lights, oil-coolers, water-coolers, &c. of a motor vehicle in which the engine is located at the rear of the vehicle, comprises an air duct characterized in that its cross-sectional area increases approximately constantly from the front inlet to the rear exit. The duct may consist of a separately constructed passage, or may be formed wholly or in part by the surfaces of incorporated parts, such as the floor or roof. Fig. 1 shows a duct D extending the full length of the vehicle and disposed at chassis level, a fan V intensifying the air-flow, while in Fig. 4 the duct D forms a passage between an external streamlined roof and an internal tonneau ceiling. In each Figure K represents a radiator.
