[Class 79 (iii)] [See also Group X] In a motor vehicle propel led by an air-cooled engine arranged behind rear driven road wheels, the engine is enclosed in a casing h with an aperture or apertures c, through which cooling air from the free space in the vicinity of the casing is drawn by a fan, blower or the like k. The engine may be located in the rear body space of a streamlined vehicle tapered off horizontally or vertically according to whether the cylinders are horizontal or vertical, and provided with a hinged flap f. Air may be admitted to the rear body part by means of louvres in the sides or by a flat conduit l under the floor of the vehicle, extending over the whole breadth thereof and, preferably, with an adjustable part m for drawing air from the interior of the vehicle. A modification is shown in which the invention is applied to a six-wheeled lorry, all the wheels of which are driven. Specifications 390,582, 400,432, and 417,613 are referred to.
