Abstract

791,888. Motor vehicles. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Jan. 5, 1956 [Jan. 19, 1955], No. 424/56. Class 79(3) An air supply system of a motor vehicle comprises a duct carried on the inside of the vehicle bonnet and connected at one end to the engine air intake and at the other end to an air cleaner. As shown a flanged channel sectioned member 40 is secured to the underside of a hinged bonnet cover 16. When the cover is closed apertures 44 at the forward ends of branches 46 of the member 40 are adapted to co-operate with the outlets 26 of air cleaners 24 secured at the sides of a radiator 22, and an aperture 42 at the rear of the member 40 is adapted to co-operate with the air intake opening 39 of a carburetter 20, resilient sealing rings 34, 38 being provided. The member 40 may be associated with one or more cleaners or one or more carburetters, and the invention may be applied to a rear-engined vehicle.
