Abstract
777,477. Mine chocks. MINING ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Sept. 28, 1955 [Aug. 9, 1954], No. 23051/54: Class 20(2) A mine chock release comprises a wedge 11 held from sliding down a wedge 10 by a transverse key 12 of semicircular crosssection journalled in a recess in the wedge 11 and in locking position a portion of the flat face 15 of the key projects into engagement with an abutment 16 on the wedge 11 in which position it is retained by an arm 17 and locking shaft 19. The shaft 19 is locked by an hexagonal part engaging an hexagonal recess in the wedge 11. When these parts are disengaged the shaft turns and releases, from a flat 18, the lever 17 which turns to release the wedge 11. Lateral lugs on the arm 17 engage the side of the slot 28 in the wedge 10 in which the arm slides and prevents loss of the wedge 11. Two chock releases may be connected together by plates 34.
