768,719. Mine chocks. MINING ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Sept. 23, 1955 [Aug. 9, 1954], No. 23050/54. Class 20(2) A mine chock release comprises a wedge 11 held from sliding down a wedge 10 by a link 16, 17 connected to the crank pin 13 of a crank shaft 15 journalled in the wedge 10 and prevented from turning by a stop 20. The link comprises two parts 16, 17 connected by a pin 18. The stop comprises a flat 19 on a shaft 20 to which is connected, by a bolt 23, an hexagonal sleeve 22 fitting in an hexagonal recess in the wedge 10. The bolt has a narrow part and may be turned by a D-link 24 so that this part may be slid into the narrow part of a keyhole slot in the shaft 20 and the sleeve 22 withdrawn from its recess, to allow the shaft 20 to turn and release the chock. Alternatively the shaft 20 may be released by withdrawal of a locking pin from the end of a long arm on the shaft 20. Two chock releases may be connected by plates on which a crank is mounted adapted to release both.
