Abstract

776,791. Pulverized fuel-fired combustion apparatus. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODAFABRIK AKT.-GES. Sept. 9, 1954 [Sept. 17, 1953], No. 26118/54. Addition to 768,656. Class 51 (1). [Also in Group XIII] The boiler shown is fired by the " fluidized layer " technique described in the parent Specification. In the lower part of chamber 1 is arranged, on a grate 3, a layer 2 of powdered coal ash &c. Air is blown by a blower 4 up through the layer and fuel is introduced through an inlet 5a. After passing through the chamber 1 and gas passes 12, the combustion gas is led to a washing tower 25 before passing to a chimney via duct 26. Ash is removed from the fluidized layer 2 either through an overflow pipe 18 or a valved pipe 20 and is allowed to drop for subsequent removal, along with any flue ash settling at the bottom of the gas passes B or accumulating from a separator 22, on to a conveyer 23. Ash collecting at the bottom of the wind chamber 5 may also drop on to the conveyer.
